The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel is in a lovely location by the forest near the village, with beautiful bedrooms and common areas.

Had a very nice stay for the service food and general experience, everything was absolutely great. The breakfast with wizened-looking mushrooms was hot, had so much to choose from.

The hotel was quiet & peaceful. The staff were pleasant & helpful. The free WIFI was useful
The door chain was incorrectly fitted & hence was totally ineffective.

The room comes with a nice set up - there's a shower in a cubicle and a washbasin placed conveniently at the end of the dressing table. 🚿 Outside, there's a great variety of food on offer in the garden. The boiler is also available for use.

secluded aspect.
Yes. We were in room 30. The noise from the ventillation/genreator duct immediately below our bedroom window was bad even when the windows were shut and we had an unpleasant nights sleep. Had we been staying for more than one night we would have wanted to be moved to a less disturbing room. We have mentioned this at reception when we checked out and have stated this on the hotel questionaire which was handed in at the same time. So far ( 3 days ) this IT questionaire has come through but no other comment/letter/statement or appology from management. This is a pity because we rather liked the hotel, its position and the staff service. However the rate of £120 a night + B&B was far too high for this particular room and the annoyance

Breakfast was good and the staff were generally quite friendly, but they forgot to inform us of the curfew and we were locked out of the hotel for over 40min when we returned at midnight. The silent night buzzer did not work and neither did the number they provided. We were not impressed to say the least.
The photos were much nicer than the hotel itself. There is no gym (website needs updating) and the pool is not that nice. The room is ok, but looks much nicer in the photos online. The clientele is generally a lot older (ie 60+) so it's certainly not a place for a romantic weekend away. It is also not worth the £140 per night price tag!

This venue is a fantastic place to stay while exploring the area, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who manage both the bar and the reception desk, as well as serving marvelous breakfasts and outstanding food.

We found it clean, comfortable and heading towards the 'upmarket', luxury end of the scale, without making you feel uncomfortable or awkward. The pool was empty and the sauna likewise; we would definitely recommend a stay at the Moorhill House - we plan to repeat our stay!
If I had to criticise at all it was the lack of staff; there appeared to be only one one young lady who seemed a bit tired, but was doing her best. She seemed inexperienced and a little 'left too it', but no criticism of her personally intended.

The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the accommodation was quirky and clean. The breakfast was nice and hot with tasty scrambled eggs and mushrooms. The room I booked was tidy, modern, and had a lovely view of the well-kept garden. The location was stunning in the national park.

The staff was very attentive and efficient. The room was immaculate. The location is remote, really close to a dog-friendly pub, the Queen's Head, and a beautiful forest with horses and donkeys going past the front door. It's in an absolutely stunning area.

Quaint, little hotel in a secluded location. Friendly and helpful staff attending to ones every need. Fantastic restaurant serving a wide selection of delicious meals. Well stocked, reasonably priced bar, would stay again.
A little disappointed at having to pay a supplement for fish for breakfast
